NMSU Drone Workshop to be held January 24th
An sUAS (small unmanned aircraft system, or drone) workshop will be held at NMSU from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 24 in Anderson Hall and the LC Model Aircraft Field.
This workshop is a requirement for all sUAS operations of NMSU assets and/or vendors to operate on campus. If you are operating an sUAS for research, classroom studies or hiring an outside vendor, the pilot must complete this workshop and practical flight demonstration. The pilots will need to have an FAA Part 107 Pilot Certificate in hand.
The workshop will cover NMSU policy and procedure; current FAA regulations; flight planning; flight requests; flight reporting; and practical flight demonstration.
