Safety tip: Addressing work-related injuries (October 28, 2020 Hotline)

Safety tip: Addressing work-related injuries

Faculty and staff, we are in trying times these days, and some of you are working from home, on campus or in both places. Environmental Health Safety and Risk Management, first and foremost, wants you all to stay safe while working from home or any other NMSU location. We want to remind you that all existing NMSU guidelines and procedures apply, should you be injured while in the course of your employment with NMSU.

  • If you sustain a serious injury while working from home, your first course of action is to call 911 and get the immediate assistance needed as soon as possible.
  • This is the same procedure whether you are working from home or any other NMSU work location.
  • Once you are able, the next steps for injury reporting are the same regardless of work location.
  • Please follow all procedures for reporting a work-related injury or incident.

For additional guidance on work-related injuries, call Aggie Health and Wellness Center at 575-646-1512, or Environmental Health Safety and Risk Management at 575-646-3327.
