NMSU operates its own public water system, and does not utilize the City of Las Cruces water system. Our drinking water is derived from ground water, treated with sodium hypochlorite, and delivered through a network of pipes and storage tanks. The system is monitored daily, and sampled as required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the State of New Mexico Environment Department. The end result is safe, high quality water delivered to your NMSU tap. Should you have questions, please contact the Environmental Health Safety & Risk Management (EHS&RM) Department.
