This coverage is provided through a Mexican Auto Insurance Policy purchased by the State of NM Risk Management Division (RMD) to provide coverage for agencies and universities traveling into Mexico via automobile on authorized state business.
NMSU EHS&RM must be notified forty-five days before the proposed trip in order to notify the State of NM Risk Management Division prior to the travel to Mexico. The State of NM RMD will provide the Evidence of Coverage to the requestor once completed.
A maximum of eight vehicles at one time is allowed. Proof of insurance will be required. Claims made when no “Evidence of Coverage” certificate has been issued will be DENIED.
