Animal Worker Safety

The purpose of an occupational health and safety program for animal workers at New Mexico State University is to decrease the risks and hazards associated with use of vertebrate animals in research, teaching and service consistent with an overall goal of maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.  The Office of Research Integrity and Compliance (RIC) oversees the health and safety program for animal workers and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).

Training is an essential component of the program and is required for all personnel working with or around animals at any NMSU campus and facility. Please use the links below to review available classes and registration options.

Contact the Biosafety Officer in Research Integrity and Compliance at ric_admin@nmsu.edu or 575-646-7177 if you have questions or need more information.
