The purpose of the Respiratory Safety Program is to preserve the health of personnel by preventing exposure to harmful levels of air contaminants or areas of low oxygen content. Where feasible, exposure to hazardous environments will be eliminated by engineering controls or administrative controls. When these controls are not feasible, suitable respiratory protection must be provided.
